What is Post Frame Construction? Good question. The NFBA defines post frame construction as:

Post-frame construction is an engineered wood-frame building system that meets UBC and IBC standards. Post-frame buildings feature large, solid sawn posts or laminated columns instead of wood studs, steel framing, or concrete masonry. They transfer loads to the ground or surface-mounted to a concrete pier or masonry foundation, and may use plastic barrier systems for enhanced protection of wood and concrete posts or piers.

What does this mean to you? It means we can construct your home, garage, or barn in less time than it takes to build a traditional stud frame, which translates to saving you money. You can choose from this  color chart  for the different colors we offer for your post-frame construction. You can see different types of metal homes we have built below.

ZAC SCREWS

For exposed fastener metal roofs we install a ‘Zac’ screw.  Backed with a limited lifetime warranty, these screws contain a zinc-aluminum alloy similar to what is used in metal panels.

As shown in the pictures below, the cheaper non-warrantied screws will rust long before the panels. Protect your investment with Zac lifetime screws.

CHIMNEY AND SKYLIGHT FLASHINGS

We use flashing to seal around chimneys and skylights to prevent  leaks. The top piece of flashing acts as a gutter to divert the water away from the skylight or chimney. The flashing on the sides and bottom are sealed to ensure no leaks will happen. Flashings are highly functional and greatly reduce reliance on caulk. See below examples of flashing we have done around chimneys and skylights.

BARNDOMINIUMS

What is a Barndominium?

Typically, a barndominium is barn that has been converted into an all-purpose space. They are also called Barndos. Bardominiums are great for flexible living quarters and a cheeper option than a new house.
